Our friends at Specialised Covers were so pleased with the site we built for them, they told their friend Janie about it. It turns out Janie runs a really successful greeting cards business that she started from scratch. Janie still hand draws the designs for her cards and her small, UK-based team applies every ribbon, pearl and diamond.

Janie now sells to Waitrose and Fortnam & Mason, to name but two, and wanted to develop a web presence that enabled trade customers to order online, rather than just by telephone or email. She also wanted to allow the general public to be able to browse and buy cards online too. So, that’s exactly what we did.

What we did for Janie

We wanted to offer Janie a solution that would scale as her company goes from strength to strength. At the same time, we didn’t want to over-complicate or upset her established business processes. So, the choice of e-commerce software and how we configured it was key, with phasing it in being front of mind.

The site design is very Janie – we worked closely with her on that element in particular. Being an artist and entrepreneur, Janie quite rightly wanted to give strong creative direction in this process. The result is a totally new face for the business and a new, scalable e-commerce system that allow it to grow into a new dimension.
