Cardinal Maritime:
Website Design & Build

Cardinal are one of the fastest growing logistics service providers in the UK. They approached First10 with a brief to replace their existing website, which they felt was poorly designed, structured and overly reliant on an external developer to maintain.

The brief:

• Completely redesign the site.
• Remove reliance on the external developer.
• Provide a Content Management System that allowed Cardinal to make changes themselves without needing to pay a techie.
• Work with an another external company to help integrate the site with their FREIGHTcalculator technology.
• Provide blog and e-marketing facilities

Our solution:

We used our open-source Content Management System of choice, WordPress for the project. We;

• Created several designs for the site and worked with Cardinal to choose and tweak the final design
• Created a custom Cardinal Maritime WordPress theme with the new design and custom features, all manageable by marketing staff.
• Ported their current blog and e-marketing systems onto the new system.
• Worked with their external partner to help integrate their technology and search tools into the site.
• Assisted with migrating the site to their new hosting
